Hi Steve and Vickie

Just a bit of info. Daniel W Laymon son of Elija Laymon Sr. is my great great grandfather. I know that he and his brother josehp faught in the civil war together in the Indiana 5th Calvary and were from Crothersville, Jackson County, Indiana which is adjacent to washington county. After the war Daniel and Joseph moved to Hazel Dell, IL (Cumberland County). Early on they moved supplies from Indiana to Illinois for the settelers in this area. They then became farmers. Daniel married Hulda Kelly from Hazel Dell. They had five children two boys and thre daughters. It is my understanding that Elijah sr. later moved to Hazel Dell were he is currently buried along with several generations of Laymons, including my grandfather David Owen Laymon. Do you have any more detail on Elijah's Ancestory. I have have family portrait of Danil Webster Laymon and his family. Probably from the late 1800's. I could email this to any one that is interested.
