Hi Jonathan,What part of Arkansas are your Laymons from. If they are from Washington Co., in the NW, they are probably decended from Joseph Laymon who was b 1760-1770 and d in Clermont Co., OH in 1842. A group of us are doing gentic testing on Laymons/Laymans/Lemons to determine which groups are related. If you are interested, contact me at slaymon@lightspeed.net. Also I have a far amount of info on decendents of Joseph, it it appears that you are decended from him.
