I am just getting started in genealogy although my dad, Claude Learn, son of Franklin Learn, had some info to provide before he passed away. My cousin, Doug Learn, from the Chicago area tells of Grandpa Learn relating the story of John Learn's massacre to him when he was 12-14 years old. He said he told it with no emotion as though he were talking about someone else's family. We have only one living aunt from whom we may be able to learn more. I've seen no data on the Franklin Learn family at all. I have the dates of birth of his children. If anyone is interested, contact me. Franklin, better known as Frank married Nettie Edinger. Both were from Tannersville and are buried there. When I was a child, we went to visit Addison & Alfred Learn, brothers of Grandpa & Keturah Anglemeyer & Katie Mader in the Tannersville and East Stroudsburg area. I'd love to hear from any Learns in the Iowa area or from anywhere for that matter. I understand there are some in northeast Iowa. I always felt the Learn clan was pretty small until I started searching for info on the internet. Then I learned there is even a Learn reunion. I hope to attend some day.
