Basic story of the Massacre is that George got into a wreastling match with a young native from a small group of natives passing by. The match started out friendly, but ended badly. Some time after the match, the small band stalked George and his family at their farm. George was killed while he was working in the field and his wife and small baby daughter were killed in the home. His father, who had been working on his farm next over, appearently heard shots and came running to the aid of his son's family, upon seeing one of the members of the maurauding band, took a shot and given the amount of blood may have killed his mark, but the body was taken away. George's sister was able to save his son John, they hid in the underbrush of the woods and one of the attackers passed by them so close he could have reached out and touched them, but he passed them by and young John, the sole survivor of George's family lived.
