Terry,

I'm not certain if I can help you in this. Although it was speculated that the original John Learn (who died in 1781) was thought to be liberal, because of his political views, there was no evidence that he was a member of the UEL. His son Peter and daughter Catherine (Zavitz), who came to Canada after his death, were also considered 'active' in loyalist causes, but I have yet to find any info that they were members of UEL either...

Now that's not to say they weren't, there just hasn't been any documentation surface to support it..
