I'm descended from Andrew & Susannah Yockey Learn through their daughter, Elizabeth, who married George Best.

Andrew (Andreas) Learn was son of John Learn and his wife, Catherine (Caderina). He was born in Tannersville, Northampton Co., Pa. (now in Monroe Co.Pa.).

John Learn was killed by Indians Jul.3, 1781 at Tannersville. He ran a tavern in Tannersville.

Andrew Learn m. Susannah Yockey (Jacque, etc.), dau. of Christian Yockey (Jacke, etc.) & Maria Catherine Christ.

In "History of Indiana Co.,Pa. 1880" by Caldwell, the name is spelled Yorkey. The Swiss spelling is Jagi or Jaggi.

Christian arrived in Philadelphia, Pa. Oct.31, 1737 on ship "William".

P. 103 "18th Century Emigrants from the Northern Alsace to America" by Annette Kunselman Burgert.....Moselem Lutheran KB (Church Book) Berks Co., Pa...Christian Jace (Jacki),single son of Christian Jace m. 11 Nov.1745 Maria Catharina Christ, dau. of Christian Heinrich Christ.
