Hi David,
I an a descendant of William Carlton Leas & Margaret [nee Argo] Leas. She was d/o Alexander Argo & she was born in Pickway Co., Ohio. (The Argos came to Champaign Co., IL., about 1865) she m. W.C. Leas in Champaign Co., Il., in 1868 after the Civil War. They were my great grandparents. W. C. Leas was s/o George & Lydia Robinson [nee Crane] Leas of Tipton Co., Indiana. (George Leas was s/o Daniel Leas the emigrant)
W.C. fought with Indiana Volunteers --Wilder's Fighting Lightning Brigade in Civil War.
They had 4 children: George Newton Leas who m. Martha Bauers d/o a Dunkard minister; (My grandmother Della Mae Leas who m. william Laban Christy;) Clara Belle Leas who m. Marion Ebenezer Leigh.
