Dottie:

Thank you for your information. I was able to find George Leas and Lydia Crane in my database. My records show that they had two sons, Issac and Abner. Based on your information, I have added a third son, William Carlton Leas. Additionally, I have added Margaret Argo, W.C.'s children, Della Mae's husband, Laban Christy, your unknown father and you.

If your W.C. is in fact the child of my George and Lydia, then George's father, Daniel was not an emigrant, rather he was born in the York County/Adams County area of PA. I show that he was born on May 27, 1778 and his wife's name was Elizabeth MATTHEWS. Based on my records, your lineage is as follows:

Leonard Leas, b 1710 married Sarah

Daniel Leas, b 1745 married Lydia WORLEY

Daniel Leas, b 1778 married Elizabeth Matthews

William Carlton Leas married Margaret Argo

Della Mae Leas married Laban Christy

Son of Della and Laban married unknown

Dorothy May Christy

Leonard and his twin brother John were either born in what is now the United States of America or they emigrated here with their parents.

My information on Daniel and his wife Elizabeth came from several sources, but primarily from Kathryn (Leas) Stuart. Kathryn is the creator and moderator of the Leas Discussion Forum. This forum can be found at, leas@yahoogroups.com In my opinion, Kathryn is "The expert" in all things concerning the Leas Genealogy and I am sure she would welcome your comments to the forum.

Thanks again for the information you included in your message. If you would like me to add your parent's information and your immediate family's information to my database, please send that information to me at, david@treecity.com
