Yes, I think you worked out correct cousin relationship. My grandfather told me his parents, Lafayette Leas and Sarah Shippee Leas, were buried in Dunlap, Illinois; however, last year a person who had access to cemetery books for Chillicothe City, Medina Twp--both in Peoria Co.--and Fondulac/Hittle, in Tazewell Co. reported no Leas or Shippee found in any of them. Lafayette Leas, b. abt. 8/12/1856-1858, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, d. abt. 1932 in Peoria. Marriage date unknown. Sarah Shippee Leas died abt. 1894-1896. Children: Chester, Everett, Bertha (died as a baby before 1892), Ivy, Jesse (b. 5/22/1892, d. 3/25/1980). My grandfather Jesse told me his uncles on his mother's side were tall, and his uncles on his father's side were shorter.
