Martha Leatherwood and George Vance

I am trying to find infomation on Martha A. Leatherwood born about 1832 in TN. She married George Vance born 1834 in SC. They lived in the Chickasaw County, MS area. It is believed that George was killed in the Civil War in 1862 or 1863. They had a son Charles Wesley Vance born in December 1861. I believe that she remarried Thomas Carter in 1872 in MS. I would appreciate any infomation on her parents.
