I am descended from one of Aquilla's sons by his first wife, Elizabeth Wilson. My ancestor is Jesse R. Leatherwood, through his daughter Sarah Malissa L. who married W.J. Baker in Kaufman County Texas in 1876. That couple were my great grandparents. I have been trying to learn more about Aquilla in part by looking in Methodist Church Archives because he was a preacher in several states. I would dearly love to hear more from you about his Bible and what it may contain, especially if it gives the maiden name of Jesse's wife Elizabeth.

Have you saved scanned images of it somewhere for safekeeping? Please let me hear from you how I can get photocopies of some of the pages, or copies of scanned images. I'll be glad to pay your costs for that. You are welcome to contact me directly -- I don't have a lot of confirmed information on Aquilla's ancestors, just lots of notes from different sources, but I will share what I have with you or other family members. I am thrilled to know someone still has his Bible!
