As you can see the name "LeBeouf" (our spelling)has many spellings. I live in New Orleans, Louisiana and in Louisiana, LeBeouf is a very common name. The spelling however will change depending on the region of the state you live. Common spellings are: LeBeouf, LeBouf, LeBouef and LeBoeuf. There may be more that I am not aware of in other regions of the state.

It all goes back to the fact that most LeBeouf's (forgive me) could not read nor write and when asked their names by census takers had to reley on others to translate (many of who were English speakers and didn't know proper French). My French friends here in New Orleans say my spelling is WRONG and that it sould be spelled LeBouef. I kind of like it, it distigues me from the other 50,000 LeBeoufs in this state.
