Hi All. My mother Louise Edith, was a LeBoeuf. She grew up in and around Acushnet and New Bedford Massachusetts. She was raised by her grandmother, Amelia Louise (Braley) LeBoeuf. She was born on West Virginia Day (June 20), and when she was a little girl, she told her grandfather she was going to marry a man from West Virginia and have three daughters. Her grandfather told her she was crazy. But sure enough, she grew up and met my dad, who was stationed at the airforce base in Massachusetts in 1956-57. His name is Charles Richard Roberts, from (you guessed it) WEST VIRGINIA. They married, moved to West Virginia, and I'm the oldest of their three daughters! My great-grandfather, Henry Lewis LeBoeuf, was the Mayor and Chief of Police in Acushnet, MA. He and his wife, Amilia Louise raised my mother. After Amilia died of cancer (abt. 1953), Henry remarried and moved to California. In his later years, he had both legs amputated due to complications of diabetes. He was a cigar smoker. He died of a stroke or a heart attack in the late 1970's or early 1980's. Henry was born on Friday the 13th. He had type "O" blood. He always said his real name was Henry Edward Lewis LeBoef. Initials spell "HELL". He also always used to say "What's up? My horse is down, that's what's up." He and Amelia had three sons, Alexander Waldo Henry LeBoeuf (my grandfather), Harry LeBoeuf, and Preston LeBoeuf. All three served in the Navy. Also, Uncle Preston went to the North Pole and the South Pole with Byrd. Henry Lewis LeBoeuf is one of the children of this Louis and Valerie LeBoeuf. Does anyone have any additional information about this branch of the LeBoeufs? I don't have any information about whether my great-great-grandfather Louis LeBoeuf had any siblings, or who his parents were. My mother thought he may have been born in Candada, and that his wife Valerie was from Canada as well. Can anyone out there help me out? Any details about ancestors, or dates of birth, death, or marriage? Linda J.R. Viderman LViderman@aol.com Notify Administrator about this message?
