Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Lacey, you might want to consider a subscription to Ancestry.com; it can be kind of expensive but it is really nice to be able to set at my computer and look at Federal Census and family trees that have been posted there; I have full access and I use the service every day.

If you have never done any research on your family, you may want to consider taking a class, perhaps online.

Just some thoughts; good luck.
