And that Charles Hyacynthe LeBoeuf is the ancestor of the Arkansas branch, where the last name became Americanized.
They are from his second wife, Marie Anne Marx, from the Marx family in what is now St. Charles Parish, Louisiana; and immigrated from the Rhine Valley area in 1720 or 1721.
The famil is listed in the 1724 census of "The German Coast" aka La Cote des Allemands, in the French census of the Louisiana colony. More on the Marx family is found in Robichaux' book on the German Coast Families. A total of nine children are listed at www.acadian-cajun.com/leboeuf.htm Look there for more info.
Also google up Charles Hyacynthe Lebouef and again using the Hyacinthe spelling for the middle name.
