Hello Kathy, From what I can gather, there are a number of french-canadian leboeufs. My family line starts with Thomas LeBeuf and Nicole Gazel (Gazeau) of LaRochelle, France. Their son, Jacques, born 1643, married (1) Anne Javolet (Chavolet) in 1667. Their 2 sons were Jean, b:1667, (my ancestor) and Phillipe, b: 1669. Jacques married (2) Antoinette Lenoir dit Pirois in 1669. They had 3 children, Marie-Felicite (died 1670 as an infant); Pierre, b: 1672 (who went to Louisiana) and Jean, b: 1674 (perhaps Jean-Baptiste). The french community was small and families often intermarried. Jetté is an excellent source.
Regards,
Sharon
