Louis LEBRUN, 1800's, Canada>VT

Aloha, My G-G-Grandfather Louis LEBRUN married Angelle WEST or WELT at Burlington, VT on 3 May 1852. I have no information on the origins of Louis except that he was born "in Canada" about 1812 to 1822. Angelle was born 1837 at Ste-Marie-de-Monnior, Quebec. Not too long before she married Louis, several of her brothers were married at St-Athanase, Quebec suggesting that Angelle's family moved there.
Given the differences in their age and that none of their relatives served as Godparents to their 11 children, I suspect that Louis and Angelle eloped. Maybe Louis was already married??
Any leads on the parents or origin of Louis would be appreciated.
Jerry, Aiea, Hawaii
