Leckies of that Ilk, Buchanan connections and poss hiers to Buchanan cheifship

I am trying to find some modern descendants of John Leckie (bc 1629), 12th of that Ilk and Jean Buchanan. Jean was the daughter of John Buchanan, 21st of that Ilk. People may or may not know that the Buchanan clan has been cheifless for some time. We are trying to find a descendant of the Buchanans of that Ilk to claim the cheifship. Descendants of this Leckie and Buchanan marriage would have an excellent claim. Of course the eldest male line has priority.

I can trace down the eldest male line to John Leckie (b 1707), 15th of that Ilk (who also married a Jean Buchanan). John also had a brother Walter (b 1712) who married a Buchanan (Elizabeth).

I believe that John, 15th of that Ilk and Jean Buchanan had 5 known children: James, bc 1731; Jannet c APR 1731; Patrick c APR 1733; Patrick c 28 NOV 1735; and Katherine c 16 MAR 1739.

If anyone has any information on these Leckie descendants, please contact me.
