Leckies in South America

Hi all,

Hopefully one of you can help me. I am looking for a scotsman who moved to South America somewhere in the 1800's. I have heard that he had written a book entitled: My wondrous and illustrious life. He passed on his name to my grandfather's father and because of the there are now black Leckies. It is not certain wether or not my grandfather's father is a child of his or not, although a lot of evidence points in that direction. I hope some of you can find some documented information on him or know where I can purchase the book.

Thanks in advance.
