Information on Alfred Leclair (or LeClair)- Montreal, Quebec, Canada
I am seeking information on my great grandfather Alfred Leclair (or Le Clair- I have seen the name spelled both ways on official documentation)and have had little success. He was apparently born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, (likely in the 1850's or 1860's) and moved briefly to Saginaw, Michigan in search of employment in the lumber trade sometime in the 1870's-1880's. In Saginaw, he met and in 1882 married my great grandmother Julienne Daoust, where their son Alfred (Fred) Leclair was born on September 30, 1883. They subsequently moved back to Canada to the small town of Byng Inlet, Ontario. I have been told that my great grandmother Julienne was born on August 14, 1864, and died in 1953 (buried in North Tonawanda, New York).
Any and all information is appreciated. I would like to eventually trace my family back to Europe.
