Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I have been contacted by the Leclerc Association in Canada to see if it might be possible to set up a Leclerc Association here in the U.S. to encompass all Leclerc's and Leclaire's. We might even include Auclair's in this group, since there are some Auclair families that go by the name of Leclerc. I would like to spread the word that if anyone is interested in having such an organization in the U.S. that they should contact me at: email@example.com. There is a lot of thought and preparation to get something like that started - (application for non-profit status, etc.), and we would like to know the extent of interest in the U.S. This organization will be separate from the Leclerc Association in Canada, but yet we will be inter-twined, so that we can attend their annual meetings and they can attend ours. And, for anyone interested, it would also be helpful to know where each person resides so that we can have the annual meetings in a different place each year in order to get as many people as possible to attend. Places that have places of interest to visit before or after the annual meeting would be best. In that way, the trip for the members to the annual meeting would be much more interesting.
I hope to hear from anyone interested and, if you don't mind, please give me your name, email address and mailing address so that I can get some kind of an idea of how diverse the group would be.
