No, I just started researching this one particular Lederer, hoping to learn more about his wife, my husband's relative. Most of his Zallingers were from the Niederbayern part of Bavaria, but I don't know in which areas Lederers are concentrated.
Do you know the year your Henry Grant Lederer emigrated to the US? Some passenger lists included the last town of residence in German states. His middle name sounds un-German, especially considering the US civil war.
Joining Rootsweb's Bavarian Ancestors mailing list could provide a helpful shortcut to figuring out Lederer concentrations and even individuals.
