Hi Linda, Sorry, I don't think there's a connection at this level between our Lederer relatives or that I can provide more information about your ggmother's ancestors. All of the people in my Lederer genealogy are from a very few villages within 5 miles of each other within the Black Forest region of Baden. It would have been a far distance to Bavaria in those days (it still is). Also the religious difference between the families (my relatives were all Catholic) suggests that they were not related. Lederer is a rather common German name, denoting someone who works with leather, so I'm sure it appeared in numerous places at different times in the past.
