I was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It seems that most of the Lednums in Maryland lived in the Tilghman Island area of Talbot County, MD.
In my research, I've come across several Ledenhams and Leddenhams.I've kept the names & information, just in case I can make the link.My grandmother had an engraved brass plate with the name Ledingham on it, and we have always believed that a link to Ledingham existed.Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make the link yet, and could use some help.
So far, from my research in Talbot County, MD, I've got Daniel Leddenham (d. 2-9-1823), Edward Leddenham, and Sardric Leddenham, but no idea if they are related.I have an Eleanor F. Leddenham who was married to Thomas Ledenham on April 11, 1822 (not sure if that was her maiden name or married name).
I have several Ledenhams. Here's an interesting family that I have pieced together:Mary ? (b. abt 1793) had a son named Noah Lednum (b. abt 1821).He married Emily Adams in 1851, and they had at least one child Robert Francis Lednum (abt 1852-April 17, 1954).Robert married Mary H. Richards in 1884, and they had four children. The spelling of the children's last names was LEDENHAM: Anna R. (1886-?, married Elmer Tull), Herbert Stanley (1887-1971), Mary E. (1896-1951, married Ira W. Lewis), and Emily R. (1899-1951, married Raymond P. King).Robert and Mary's family information was from the 1900 Census, North West Fork Hundred, Sussex County, DE, so the last name information may not be 100% accurate.
Other Ledenhams I've found: Ebenezar Ledenham, Nathaniel Ledenham, and Shadrach Ledenham (b abt 1824, married Dolly Fairbank in 1840).I have no idea if these three are related.
I'm looking forward to anything you can help me with.I also have posted some information about the Lednum family, and would appreciate your help there if you can. Thanks!
