Hi Gerry
Thanks for the info on James Crawford Ledlie and Amelia(AKA Millie). I am afraid I don't have much information on these two. Amelia's parents were Andrew Hanley and Louisa Tinson (my GGGparents).

This is what I can give you - Andrew was born in Birkenhead Cheshire England around 1832. His parents were Edward Hanley and Ann Tye. To date I am still trying to locate exactly when Andrew was born, haven't had much luck with the IGI, censuses and I cannot find where Edward and Ann were married. I do know Ann was christened 29 NOv 1829 at St Dunstans Stepney in London. Edward I am still having trouble trying to find where he was born (England or IReland?) Hopefully one of these days I will find out.

Amelia was the sixth child out of eight children born to Andrew and Lousia Hanley. She was born 8 NOv 1866 in Sydney (mostly of the time they lived in Paddington - an inner Sydney suburb).

She married James Crawford Ledlie on the 17 June 1884 at St Michael's Church of England Sydney. Amelia was 17 and James Crawford Ledlie was 27.

She was still alive when her mother died in 1907 aged 40.

That is all the info I have on my ancestors.

I would love to hear the information that you may have and make contact with any other cousins from Amelia (Millie) and James' side of the family.

I have copies of Amelia's Birth and Marriage Certificate if you would like a copy.

My email address is (if that doesn't work try .au at the end) or just send your reply through Genforum.

Regards Dianne Butler (nee Hanley) - Morayfield Qld Aust
