Leslie first let me thank you for posting!

Here is what I have on the emmigration papers that were written in German for two different Robert Leemans. I did my best to translate.

First paper:
Dated 1823 - Leemann, Robert
From the Municipality: Uetikon
Canton: Zurich
Occupation: Mechanic
Born: August 1872
Traveled on the ship the Crefeld

He traveled with a woman named Barbara Leeman who could have been his wife or sister I suppose. Her paper says she was also born August 1872 and was born in the same place. A third Leeman was in that group and her name was Frieda and she states her birth as August 1906.

The second Swiss emmigration paper:
Dated: 1931
Born: 1861
From the Municipality: Uetikon
Canton: Zurich
Destination: Montevideo
Traveled on the ship: Monte Olivia

A woman named Barbara Leeman traveled with him on this occasion also. She states her birth year as 1871.

Perhaps they are one in the same couple but there is a difference in age of the Robert on paper one and two.

Like I said in my earlier post, my son-in-laws great grandfather was Rudolf, born 1897 from Uetikon also in the Canton of Zurich.

Please tell me what you know of the family group of your great grandfather Roberto. Who were his brothers and sisters, parents, grandparents, etc. Was Barbara his wife? Do you beleive I have the papers that belong to your ancestors?

We will take any and ALL bits of information to help put the pieces of our Leemann puzzle together. I feel a possible connection due to so many similarities in names and places.

Thank you Leslie.
Diane
