So glad to get your message! This line confuses me no end..The Nathaniel I have was
born in 1846 in Hallowell, Kennebec Co,Maine. So there must be a connection. On
the LDS site his parents are listed as Nathaniel and Charlotte. I got his birthdate
from his tombstone and his place of birth from the census record. So I started searching in Maine and found Nathaniel and
Charlotte..but have not been able to find
much more about them. I tried every spelling
of which there are many. My Nathaniel is listed as Lumen on the Arkansas census. If
Nathaniel,Sr. was b.in 1797, he would have
been 49 when my Nathaniel was born...not unheard of but reaching! I found 3 Nathaniel Leaman's who md. in Kennebec Co.,Me. but none early enough to be my Nathaniel's father. Then I found another Nathaniel who
was b. in Kennebec Co. to Nathaniel & Charlotte 21 Dec. 1834.This one sounds more plausible. Do you have more info on Sarah?
I cannot begin to imagine how my Nathaniel
got to Arkansas from Maine. Did the ones you
know of stay in Maine? I would so appreciate
anything at all you can tell me about your
line. You are the first person to know anything about these people at all. Thanks
so much for responding!
