Marriage of Margaret Leeper to John Rowland
I am searching for information about the marriage of Margaret Leeper to John Rowland (where and when?) and their children. I have no proof that this marriage ever occured. Supposedly they had at least two children named Robert Marshall Rowland and Rebecca Rowland, but there has not been any proof shown to me. I have seen no proof that any of this is true. Supposedly Robert Marshall Rowland was born in the area of Smith Co., TN and later moved to Collin Co., TX. It is proven fact that Rebecca Rowland married Waman Leftwich in Sumner Co., TN. and lived in White Co., TN. after that. Rebecca and Waman are buried in the Old Sparta Cemetery in Sparta, White Co., TN. Her stone states she was born in Sumner Co., TN. The claims are that Margaret (Leeper) Rowland died abt 1850 and is buried in the same cemetery as her daughter Rebecca, but there is no stone for Margaret and no known record.
There was a John Rowland that I've found and researched living on the Sumner/ Smith Co., TN. line who died in 1821 with a will and probate in Sumner Co., TN. court. Neither wife nor Robert nor Rebecca were named. John's will did state that he had a married daughter, but the name was not given, and Rebecca would be consistent with that. The children named in an 1829 probate are Susan, Malinda, Teresa (all three minors), Matilda (md. Wyatt Dalton), John, and James. It's is clear that this is not all the children.
Any help would be appreciated.
