Craig,
I welcome any help you can give me. I have all of my Gladney side done. You may have the following but I will go ahead incase someone else is also working on our family.
Ruth Ester Leigh Born May 31,1930 died August 22, 1993. Married Joseph Delton Gladney December 25, 1947 in Winter Haven, Florida. He was born on December 16, 1928, Joseph (Uncle Bill) was the son of Wyatt W. Gladney and Ann Will Smith Gladney. He was my mothers brother.
Uncle Bill died after a long battle of Cancer on Feb. 11, 1983 at the Winter Haven Hospital. He is burried at Glenn Abby Memorial Gardens in Winter Haven. Aunt Ruth is also burried there.
Aunt Ruth had gone North to visit some of her family when Ricky died. It was 5 months after his father had died. Ricky lived just across the street from me. Ricky Delton Gladney born June 13, 1951 born at home Rifle Range Road, Winter Haven, FL. Died July 18, 1983 at his home in Eagle Lake, Florida.
Kimberly Ann Gladney born Sept. 13, 1964 at Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven, Fldied Spet 25, 1991 in New York.
Her first husband was John Reed. Linda was not sure of her 2nd husbands first name but the last name is Devaney. All Linda could tell me is that she is burried somewhere in New York.Maybe you have more. They had wanted to bring her back home to the family blot but her husband would not let them.
Brenda Faye Gladney Born April 13, 1953 Born at home, Grandmother was with her when the twins were born. Mom said it was in the home of a Leigh family member. They lived next door to my grandparents. Not sure who this was. There is a cute story about the birth of the twins...Uncle Bill and Aunt Ruth did not know there was going to be twins. When they told him he had a girl he was all excited it was the first girl then grandmom came back out an told him there was another girl and he passed out.Brenda died June 6, 1953 at the Winter Haven Hospital. It is said that there was a problem with her navel cord and had to have a blood transfusion given by her twin Linda. She developed Pneumonia and died. Burried at Oaklawn Cemetery, Winter Haven. Lot is listed in the name of Wyatt W. Gladney. No marker on grave. But I did find it.
I have a lot of other information but since they are still living don't want to post here. Will gladly share my info.
I have lots of pictures of the family an will share them with you also.
Do you know any other Leighs living in this area?
