Hi,I have read and heard various accounts about how Henry Sevier Neel died. Elizabeth Colbath who married George Leinneweber was my great-great grandmother. I do know that family lore says that when he was injured, when she heard,Lucinda set out in a wagon to get him. She did get to Sevier, but he was so seriously injured, he later died.
Lucinda is buried by George Leinneweber in San Marcos,Texas. We have been unable to find out for sure where Elizabeth is buried.
I do not know what disease Elizabeth died from but I am sure that the hard life and numerous children had something to do with it.
My mother was Jewell Leinneweber before her marriage. Her father was George William Leinneweber who was named for his two grandfathers--George C. Leinneweber and William Darrell Pursley.
Have you seen the clipping that came out in the Wimberley,Texas, paper about the twins Americus and Columbus? It gives the story of the blended Neel/Leinneweber families when Lucinda Neel married George Leinneweber.
Ann
