Did your Peter Leinweber settle in the Calgary, AB area? If so it is very likely that he is a Volga German, a German from the the Volga valley of Russia. Many of them from the Volga village of Yagodnaya Polyana (Jagodnaja Poljana) settled in Calgary, in the Riverside area. A few of the surnames from this village that settled in Calgary were, Morasch, Hergert, Befus, Lust, Luft, Leinweber, Scheuermann, Fuchs / Fox, Koch / Cook, Weitz, Konschuh, Schneidmiller, Gerlitz and Poffenroth / Pfaffenroth. Many of them also settled in Oshkosh, WI, Pine Island, NY, Endicott & Colfax, WA and Kansas. My grandfather, Henry Morasch, traveled with a Peter Leinweber to Calgary from Russia in 1913. I know there were a couple of other Peter Leinwebers there also. Perhaps your Peter moved to Canada from Oshkosh, Wisconsin?
