Lennard Family Genealogy Forum

I have Sallie/Sally Lennard/Leonard. She's one of my brick walls. I have her married to Olin Speed (mulatto son of L.S. Speed) in 1844, Bullock Co., AL. (Sally's name is spelled both ways in records.) According to family lore, she was all or part "Cherokee", but I have found no evidence of this. According to census records, Sally's parents were born in GA, again not substantiated by any other record. I have found no other information about her.
What is intriguing about posts on this forum, though, is the possiblity that Sally may have come from Coosa Co., AL, having connected with the Speed family there, her husband Olin, having descended from a Speed slave). I know there were Speed families, with slaves, living in Coosa Co., so this is an interesting prospect. Therefore, a possible relationship of Sally to some Lennards/Leonards in Coosa County would be the first real clue I would have about Sally's origins. Although this is highly speculative, if this rings as a possibility with anyone, I will be very grateful for help or clues you might provide about Lennard/Lennard families in Coosa, Bullock or Macon Co., AL... or GA, for that matter. Thanks.
