GGG-grandmother was Louisa LEOPOLD (possibly LIPPOLD?) born 4/3/1809, died 6/8/1881. She is buried at the Old Marcus Avenue Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. She may have come from France or Belgium.
She married John URBAN (born about 1797 in Germany, died ca. 1857 in St. Louis, MO.) He is also buried at the Old Marcus Avenue Cemetery.
John and Louisa had four children, Joseph, Bernhardt, Oswald (d. 1869), and Mary. Mary is my gg. grandmother. She was born 3/26/1838 in Altonburg, Saxony, Germany and died 2/22/1916.
John and Louisa URBAN brought their family to the US in 1852, entering at New Orleans and coming upriver to St. Louis.
