Renee many thanks for info. It is well worth looking into. However my route to George Lepine - bootmaker is through the birth certificate of his son Richard Henry born 1 June 1853. On the cert it states father: George Lepine- occupation: bootmaker. Mother; Mary formerly Haywood. Address St Pancras. His marriage certificate to Mary Haywood on Feb 1851 at St Pancras gives his age as 19. So my George and your George could be one and the same person but it would mean he remarried and moved as well as having his name changed by the cencus enumerator. But it definately worth checking out. Thanks
George gave his father's name as William occupation Shoemaker.
As for the Newman line - sorry but I married into the Lepine family so it is unlikely we are related.
