Cooper(s)ville NY 1848 Lepine mar. Rondeau

Emile Lepine sent us a great chain of Berard - Lepine marriages which we believe connects the Lepine families of Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin back thru various Quebec locations, to St. Guingalois, France.
The couple we think came to WI is this one:
Joseph LEPINE and Elisabeth/Louise RONDEAU mar. on 18 Jan. 1848 at Cooperville NY. We think this is the Joseph LEPINE b./ bapt.__Jul 1827 at Berthier, Que., and who d. 14 Apr. 1900 at Fond du Lac, WI.
The 1870 census for the township of Friendship, FdL Co WI, lists data consistent with those listed by Paul Beauregard to this list on 3 Feb 2001.
Joseph 44 farmer b Canada,
wife Louiza 41 b NY,
and 11 children. 8 oldest all b NY, including Francis LEPINE 18 laborer. There were 2 different Josephs, ages 20 and 13. Mary age 8 was the youngest b. in NY. Three youngest were ages 5, 4, and 2, so the move to WI seems to have been between 1861 & 1865, during the Civil War- does that seem unusual?
Also, where is Cooper(s)ville? We thought they moved from Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence Co. NY; now it looks like it might be Clinton or Franklin Co. NY instead?
Happy to exchange info,
Tom & Barb Glassel
