Hi Mike. I came across your message and noticed the name Evariste Lepine. It is an unusual name and one that is in my ancestry. I don't notice a James Lepine but I will tell you what I know.

Evariste Lepine, born 1800 New Oleans, m. 9/27/1825 St. Joseph's church, Thibodaux, La (Lafourche Parish) to Nathalie Marie Martin. d. 9/14/1871.

Children - Charles 1/26/1826 (my ggg grandfather)
Celeste Nathalie 1827?
Justine ?
Evariste Appolinaire 7/23/1829 (could be your ancestor)- married Clarisse Aubert
Charles Oscar 12/6/1834

I guess this could make us 4th cousins. Drop a line if you're still out there.

Karl Lepine
