Thank you Jeanne. I am searching for detailed documents of the Lepines iin France dating back to the 1500s, but cannot find them at the moment.

I hope the following information will be useful. My Great Aunt's name was Violet Esther Lepine Brown [nee' Cooper]. She was a Girtonian and I think she was probably the first woman to win a 1st Class dgree and a hockey blue before WW1. The title of my book is "& Hitler Stopped Play". It is out of print and did not do very well!! I was very inexperienced.

John Lepine [b. 1669] m. Esther Six

Their son: -

John Lepine m. Marie Bonte

Their son John Lepine m. Alice ???

Their daughter: -

Anne Lepine [Ch. 1769] m. Thomas Cozens

Their daughter Mary Finch Cozens [b. 1796] m. [11/7/1816] Rev. Joseph Walker

Their daughter: -

Elizabeth Walker m. [1845] Stephen Cooper [b. 1816. He was a London tailor.

The Coopers link in with Lepines at this point. The Coopers were Methodists [a branch called Lady Huntingdon's - there was a small Chapel at Canterbury Cathedral.

Anne Lepine brothers and sisters were John; George; Elizabeth and Sam. I am sure I have seen a Mary Lepine on the document I am searching for!! The Lepines were silk weavers and lived in Spitalfields. They were the first people to keep window boxes. My Great Aunt Vi Brown [nee' Cooper] remembers her grandmother talking about them.

I hope this information is useful.

George Cooper
