My GGGrandfather's name was Peter (Pierre) Lepine--not sure if the same as your Pierre. He lived in NH and VT around the 1850's. He was married 2 times that I can find--Matilda (1) and Margaret (2). He had at least 3 sons, Peter, Joseph and Frank. Frank was born in Bolton, Ontario, Canada. I know Peter came from Canada, but don't know where. Any connection with your family?

We were also told we had Indian blood. What is Golden Lake? You can email me
