Thank you Annie, I have all the information for Gustave's descendants and have hit a wall trying to find Gustave's ancestors! You gave me a new name to pursue with the 1871 census info! Gustave age 6 living with his mother Emelie age 30 and ANDRE Lepine age 85 widower b 1786. The only information I can find on Andre is that he is listed in the 1825 Canada census with 2 others and I get a black screen when I try to view the census record to see the other names. I have a copy of Massachusetts, Marriages, 1695-1910, "Gustav Lepine, 1886 listing his father as Augustine and mother as Emily Courchaine daughter of John and Mary Leblanc. I have been unable to get any information on the Courchaine name either. What makes the Lepine ancestry difficult is that the name was spelled De L'Espinay in France and Lepinay in Canada and then became Lepine. Makes this research very interesting.
