Could be a connection, but I can't prove it -someting to look into as a possibility. Samuel Lesslie and Sara Hutchinson were married in 1755 in Cerrickfergus, Antrim, Ireland. They came to the United States around 1755 and settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Their children included William Lesley who went to Abbeville, S.C. The reason I say to look for a connection is this: Sara Hutchinson's sister Elizabeth married Andrew Jackson II in Ireland before coming to the US in 1765. They settled in Lancaster County, South Carolina with other relatives. Andrew Jackson II died after being injured lifting a log. At the time, his wife Elizabeth was pregnant with their third child, Andrew Jackson III, later President Andrew Jackson. William would have been cousing to Andrew Jackson and living in the same area, so he might have named a child that. Like I said, have no proof of this, but worth looking into.
