WANTED: LETCHWORTH grave removal permission

I POSTED THIS ELSEWHERE, BUT FELT I SHOULD RE-POST SIMPLY IN AN ATTEMPT TO REACH ANY POSSIBLE RELATIVE OF Annie Letchworth, OR Thomas A. Kinchen (see following):

The west portion of THOMAS COUNTY, GA was cut off and merged with the east portion of DECATUR COUNTY, GA to form GRADY COUNTY, GA in 1906, now located between the two. All three border the state of Florida.

Within now GRADY COUNTY, GA in the middle of a large farm field (and within danger of disappearing) are TWO graves: one is that of THOMAS A. KINCHEN who died in 1904 before GRADY COUNTY's formation, and next to him is ANNIE LETCHWORTH. I have placed photos of these 2 graves on Find-A-Grave.com website.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans is interested in moving KINCHENS and LETCHWORTH to a better maintained location/cemetery, but is still seeking a provable relative for permission. Some research has been done none can confirm (yet) these two were married. KINCHENS was indeed a confederate soldier and married a woman named ANN. Records show a Ms. LETCHWORTH married to (George, I believe) but after THOMAS KINCHENS' death.

From what I viewed of these graves when I photographed them was that the described "fence" around their graves no longer exists, probably due to deterioration & the tractors used in this field. One cannot simply drive past these graves as the field itself surrounds it. Both graves have headstones of about 5' and 6' heights, with some damage to their very tops.

Any contact information regarding either of these two graves is greatly appreciated. Again, they can be seen on FindAGrave.com (once there search their surnames or the Kinchens as a cemetery name with Georgia & Grady County to narrow the search). You may contact me at hknauff@lycos.com but please put KINCHENS or LETCHWORTH in the Subject so I'll catch it.

Thank-you,

Hubert Knauff, Jr.
