Not sure of the meaning although I've heard "tender" being one. We are from Manchester NH...I actually married another Letendre, Gloria, from Manchester. We live in Cape Coral Fla now. Funny thing is, her side pronounces it "Latown", our side it's Latond, rolling the "r".
