Hi,
I, too, am a LETOURNEAU by birth. My LETOURNEAU line is from Saskatchewan. However, I suppose it is possibly that some moved to Winnipeg.I have two Henry LETOURNEAU's in my database. One was born in 1872 in Illinois (probably to old for your grandfather). The other was born in 1912 in Saskatchewan but his wife was named Lois.
What I would suggest for you to do is try to obtain birth, marriage and death certificates for your parents and grandparents if possible. That is, if you have any dates (even if it is just a year).I am guessing that your grandparents are/were Catholic. You could also try writing the Catholic church where you think they may have been married or baptized.
If you are unable to do any of the above because of lack of information, my next suggestion would be to take a guess on where you think your grandfather may have been living in 1901 and start seaching the census.
If you're looking for a genealogy program, I would suggest starting with something like PAF which I believe you can download for free.It is good for basic information.
Hope this is of some help.
Carol Wright (nee Letourneau)
