You are in luck--your family connects to the Hiram Lett family of West VA and a lot of genealogy has been done on that line. I suggest you start with the person who posted message 2454 on this forum and go from there.

Also see Mel Lett's post message # 1455 at http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?hiram::lett::1455.htmlhttp://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?hiram::lett::1455.html
Be cautious about Mel's info at first. This list looks "pretty good"-- but at one time I know he was concerned that he had entered some of the info on that family incorrectly into his computer.
Hiram isn't from Mel's direct line (which is close to mine), it was just info he gathered online and from other researchers. Mel is deceased now, so there will not be any way to double check with him to see if that is correct as posted--but it has lots of names that I know are related to your line and should give you good places to start.
You'll want to pay attention to this part of that post first, I think:
1.1a.4.12 JAMES "ANTHONY" LETT (About 1845 - ) & MARY C.MERRICKS (CHADWICK)
1.1a.4.12.1 HIRAM"WAYNE" LETT III (1865 - ) & HENRIETTA "PAULINE" JARRELL-GERALDS
1.1a.4.12.1.1 HARVEY-WVA LETT (1914 - ) & GARNETTE G.-WVA BYROM (1917 - 1958)
1.1a.4.12.1.1.1 MAX CURTIS-WVA LETT (28 Sep 1938 - 15 Dec 1971)
1.1a.4.12.1.1.2 JOHN WAYNE-WVA LETT & DONNA-? LETT
Asa Lett may know someone you should contact.
