Levis History prior to 1649
Hello,
I am the 7th great-grandson of Samuel Levis. The research I have done of the Levis family may have found a solid link to France.
Relatives in my family line have kept records and did research. with the help of William Bittle Levis and Seth Pancoast Levis they were able to find a link in France. The St Bartholemew Massacre occured around the time of when the Levis records appeared in England .The Levis family was said to have split up some staying in England some going to Ireland and some returning to France to maintain the title of Marquis De Miroix. The Samuel Levis line was the first of the Levis to come from England.and settled in Delaware Co. Pennsylvania. This is but a brief bit of Information on the Levis Line.
