You might try looking in the New York Naturalization Index records. I was looking for my Bernard Levy on Tuesday. He was born in France. There were at least 20 or so Bernard Levys on the index for L100 starting with either Benjamin or Bernard. I eliminated anyone from Russia. I found the index at the Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Allen Co. Public Library. If you are lucky, the naturaliztion index may give you the occupation, an address and the sponsor. Lots of libraries have these sets of microfilm. I only get there once or twice a year. You also might try the World War I draft records. I have never used them myself, but have read they can be very useful. Good luck, Judy
