1874-80 photo of Sol Levy (or Levi), San Francisco, CA

I purchased the subject undated studio portrait taken by Shew's New Photographic Establishment, No. 115 Kearny St., San Francisco, CA. William Shew operated a photography studio at this address from 1874 to 1880. The photo is identified on the back:

"Sol Levi - lived
next door - candy
maker for Haas"

I found a candy maker named Sol Levy listed in the 1880 Census data for San Francisco, CA. Born about 1852 in CA, he was the son of E. Levy (maiden name unknown), born about 1832 in Germany. The family resided at 404 Stockton St. Sol had 2 brothers--Dave, born about 1856 in CA, and Charles A., born about 1864 in CA, and a sister, S. F., born about 1863 in CA.
