Still looking for James Lewallen's parents, siblings and where he was born. James was born March 18, 1871 either Texas or Arkansas, he died September 19, 1910 in Maxwell, Pontotoc, Oklahoma, he is buried at the Avoca Cemetery (NW part of Pontotoc County, Oklahoma)he was married to Lucy Elizabeth Lynch, born May 28, 1871 Van Buren, Arkansas, died April 26, 1934 in Seminole, Seminole, Oklahoma, buried at the Little Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma; they had 6 daughters (I also have their husbands names). The 1900 Indian Territory, Chickasaw Nation Census shows his parents were from Mississippi, and James born in Texas. Shown with a roll #1847, stricken from the Chickasaw Nation. In the Wise County, Texas 1880 census shows a James Lewallen about age 9, this would be about right for my James. There was a Samuel born February 1854 same area that also went to Oklahoma same time with James shown on the 1900 Oklahoma census. This has been a work in progress, very slow progress! If there is anyone that has some information about a James and Samuel (census shows they were both born in Texas and parents born in Mississippi)Please contact me or Linda (L K Sims) who has also posted here. Thanks, LaDonna Rrlsims@aol.com
