Daniel Lewallen who married Elizabeth Lane was born ca 1789/90 and died before 1850. They are listed in the 1830, 1840 Jackson Co census and Elizabeth as head of household in 1850. The Freeman in the land patents was either a brother or some other relative. Most likely a brother because there is a Freeman in the 1850 census as age 53 making him born ca 1797;and Freeman is listed as a brother in their sister's probate.
Several Daniel Lewallen researchers have tried and have not proven a connecton with Richard Luallen who married Gracey Stokely and Parasida Vowell. The fact that several names were repeated in both families indicates a relaionship but we need proof.
