Donald,

I have recently begun researching this line for my brother-in-law. He is the grandson of John Elisha LEWELLYN and Hattie BUTT of White Co., Tennessee. John was born 1895 in Indiana, the son of Thomas LEWELLYN (1860-aft. 1920) and Druscilla CHANDLER (1868-aft. 1920). From census records, it appears that Thomas is the son of Elisha A. LEWELLEN b. 1824 and Permelia b. ca 1836.

I found an Elisha A. LEWELLEN in the 1900 Washington Co., Arkansas census, Wheeler Township. I believe this to be the same Elisha for several reasons (birth year and place, birth places of parents, and occupation). There appears to have been a second wife. The evidence for the second wife is in the 1900 Wheeler, Washington Co., Arkansas census where Elisha age 76 appears with 15? year old daughter whose given name is unreadable (from my microfilm roll).

The daughter's mother is listed as being born in Germany. Do you have knowledge or information that may help here?

I would like to compare information on children of both Elisha and son Thomas.

Also, I have followed your posts, and wonder if you have definitively determined Elisha's parentage.
